On Monday 8th December, a group of our pupils from Edna G. Olds Academy had the incredible honour of attending the Together at Christmas Carol Service at St Mary’s Church, Nottingham—an invitation extended by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire, Veronica Pickering MBS HAC.
This special event celebrates children who make a positive impact in their schools and communities, and we are so proud that our pupils were chosen to represent us.
Together at Christmas is a national initiative supported by The Royal Foundation and Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales, running alongside the Westminster Abbey service. Each year, it brings people together to thank those who go above and beyond for others. This year’s theme, chosen by The Princess, was LOVE—highlighting care, kindness, creativity, and compassion as the true spirit of Christmas.
Our pupils enjoyed an afternoon filled with festive music, inspiring readings, and the chance to meet the Lord-Lieutenant and other community leaders. Their exemplary behaviour and commitment to our school values shone brightly throughout the day.
We couldn’t be prouder—well done to all involved for representing Edna G. Olds Academy so beautifully. We are thrilled to see your hard work acknowledged in such a memorable way.
